HOPE
My hope is that all children
regardless of what makes them diverse receive equitable education. In addition, my hope is that schools across
the global community implement diversity training for teachers in order for
them to incorporate lessons that expand the minds of their students.
GOAL
My
goal in the early childhood field is to continue learning and reflecting about
any personal biases I may have. This will
allow me to teach my students in the most effective way. Moreover, it will allow me to have a personal
relationship with students and families.
Given the fact we are living in a global society, it is my
responsibility to incorporate lessons involving diversity. When I make a conscious
decision to implement diversity lessons in my teaching; it will be fair and
equitable for all my present and future students.
COLLEAGUES
It is always a pleasure
leaning from colleagues. I just want to say thank you sharing stories about
your personal and professional lives. The personal blog stories we have shared
will help us on our journey into becoming consummate professionals that will
teach our students the knowledge we have learned. Good luck to everyone in future classes and continued
success.
Hi Georgiana,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us these past weeks. I do believe that your hope of an equitable education for all children will come true one day. It is up to us to get the message across locally and globally of the importance of diversity and equity in classrooms.
Georgiana, I am hoping for equitable education too. Thanks for sharing your experiences and good luck with goals to becoming a more enlightened teacher. Keep spreading the knowledge.
ReplyDeleteHello Georgiana,
ReplyDeleteI agree that education promotes social justice and that we need to strive to provide education to all children. It is through education that one can reflect and get rid of biases and prejudices. I enjoyed reading your post!
I hope that we can continue to work together and support each other in working towards equity and social justice.
Good luck in your next class!
