Sharing Web Resources

  • Teaching respect for all through anti-racism curricula

The information I learned this week was of great interest to me because it focused on teaching children to respect individual’s culture.
UNESCO-USA –Brazil project was launched in January 2012. The project tries to promote and counter discrimination, mutual tolerance, gender, and violence while cultivating an understanding between people.

"The program  recommends pedagogy that encourages students to apply what they have recently studied at school and community level so as to ensure a sustainable learning experience".

  • I also gain new knowledge about the dropout rate of children in different parts of the world.  For example,
Gender percentage balance dropout throughout the world
23.5%- Boys
22.8%- Girls
According to the website, "Globally, girls are less likely to start school but boys are more likely to repeat grades and leave school before completing primary education".
